Things I learned & loved : AUGUST

Aug 30, 2019

It’s that time of the month again… where I look back on what’s cropped up and consequently what I learned and loved during August 2019! August feels like it has been so busy with work, that it’s just flashed by!

So recently I have been working with a TONNE of awesome ladies that are focused on smashing down the common ideals of beauty (@beautifullyundressed, @dontcallmepretty), promoting self love (@sophiefrench , @alynagel) and self care (@handsandhearttherapy) and I have to say – their passion is rubbing off on me! .

I’ve been thinking more and more about what makes me feel good (in business and not), what I need to feel awesome, relaxed and confident in my own skin.

I’m not going to start documenting my thoughts of defining self-love here (don’t panic), but will be starting a bit of a journalistic passion project over on another insta account that I will drop the link to over in stories.

But that leaves me with another thought – what makes you feel good in your business? A killer blazer, or working in your PJs? 6am emails, or does that inbox stay shut ’til a Friday? I think it’s time to smash down the common ideals of a successful business too!! Just like sexy looks good on all different people, in all different ways, so does a great business.

Let’s create our own definition – one that makes us feel like a supermodel, that we can strut into our personal boardroom and command the room any day of the week. You with me?

Listening to: Girl Boss Vibes 2019 (Spotify)

The Gist: My new Spotify playlist that gets me fired up and ready to kill it!

Why I loved it: From Beyoncé to Tina Turner, Jay-Z and Britney, this is a work in progress that I need to get me going when I’m on my way to a meeting, about to walk into a presentation or generally to say ‘see ya!’ to the Monday blehs. Click the picture to listen (and feel free to suggest additions!)

Watching: Gala Darling – High Vibe Honey

The Gist: Gala Darling is a speaker and the bestselling author of Radical Self-Love: A Guide To Loving Yourself And Living Your Dreams. She has been teaching radical self love — a selection of powerful techniques and tools which help women transform their lives — for close to a decade.

Why I loved it: I’ve spoken about EFT with Gala before, but if you need convincing, check out High Vibe Honey on YouTube and give it a go!

Reading: Light is the new black – Rebecca Campbell

The Gist: a guidebook for a new breed of women who are here to be bright lights in the world – modern-day lightworkers, who agreed to be here at this time in history.

Why I loved it: In order to thrive in this new age, everything we do must be an authentic expression of who we truly are. Once you rediscover what you already know at soul level, you can offer the world something that only you can give.

Visiting: Chatsworth Country Fair

The Gist:  For a true taste of the very best the countryside has to offer, there’s nowhere quite like the annual Country Fair at Chatsworth. Featuring spectacular grand ring displays in the air and on land, demos from celebrity chefs plus entertainment for all the family.

Why I loved it: Dog agility, ponies and luxury shopping all in a grand estate? Sign me up! P.S – I totally papped Alan Titchmarsh!
